Dr. Cascalheira is the lead psychologist and founder of Urban Insight, PLLC. He is a licensed psychologist (PY61612304) practicing in the State of Washington. With nearly a decade of experience providing psychotherapy, he has worked in a variety of treatment settings with culturally diverse people, consistently achieving the best outcomes for his clients using person-centered, evidence-based methods. A passionate educator and researcher whose work centers on health equity, Dr. Cascalheira is a Staff Psychologist at VA Puget Sound Health Care System, where he provides psychological services, conducts research, and trains the next generation of helping professionals. His research portfolio spans 50+ peer-reviewed publications. He has contributed to research totaling $6+ million in funding. His scholarly work has been featured in the nation's top academic journals.

Dr. Cascalheira received his Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from New Mexico State University, funded by numerous awards and scholarships, including a prestigious training grant from the National Institutes of Health. He completed an APA-accredited pre-doctoral internship at the VA Puget Sound Health Care System (Seattle Division). He completed one year of postdoctoral experience at VA Puget Sound Health Care System (Seattle Division), most of which involved a MIRECC fellowship. He regularly consults with colleagues, pursues new training opportunities, develops treatment workbooks and materials, and reads and conducts psychological research to sharpen his clinical skills.
